Job Title: West Loop Elementary Coordinator
FLSA Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Workdays/Hours: Maximum of 28 hours, Sunday – Thursday with occasional
Friday/Saturday for church events and other duties
Weekend Responsibilities: This position has regularly scheduled weekend
responsibilities as assigned by the Kids Pastor and a rotation of periodic weekends
off will be established to give healthy margin and rest.
Reports To: West Loop Kids Coordinator and West Loop Campus Pastor
MINISTRY PURPOSE: Dedicated to leading the Elementary Ministry (1st–5th Grade)
by overseeing volunteers and creating a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered
environment where children can grow in their faith, build relationships, and
encounter the love of God through biblical truth. This role supports Turning Point
Community Church’s mission of 'Changed Lives. Period.'
MINISTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
CHARACTER:
• A follower of Jesus Christ who is growing spiritually and serving as a leader
within the body of Christ.
• Demonstrate a lifestyle and family life consistent in word and practice with the
teaching of Jesus Christ. Consistently meets and strives to maintain the
leadership character qualifications as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 (“above
reproach, sober minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to
teach...filled with gentleness.”)
• Understand and embrace TPCC’s mission, purposes, and vision for ministry.
• Possess an inspirational and influential personality that champions the needs of
children and families.

order to help equip volunteer teams.
• Understand the unique discipleship and logistical needs of Elementary
ministry.
• Navigate wisely and professionally between the goals of the Kids’ Ministry,
ministry leaders, volunteers, and parents.
• Communicate in a professional, polished, and discerning manner across
various modes of contact: face-to-face, phone, text, email, social media, etc.
• Ability to maintain the highest degree of discernment and confidentiality at all
times

• Resolve relational and professional conflicts in an expeditious manner while

• Develop intentional, positive relationships with the KM Team, volunteers,
parents, and children.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead and facilitate Bible teaching, worship, and small group activities on
Sunday mornings for 1st–5th grade.
• Oversee, schedule, and lead Elementary volunteers, providing
encouragement, training, and accountability.
• Develop consistent standards of excellence and fun across Elementary spaces.
• Prepare and ensure classrooms are well-stocked, safe, and ready with
curriculum and supplies.
• Meet regularly with the Generation and/or Campus Pastor to discuss
assignments, tasks, progress, and support needs.
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of volunteer training, special events,
and family engagement opportunities.
• Serve as a consistent presence on Sundays by supporting volunteers,
engaging with parents, and building relationships with children.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: (cont’d)
• Remain current on issues and trends in Kids and Family Ministries (reading,
conferences, training, etc.).
• Recruit, train, and retain new volunteers for the Elementary Ministry, ensuring
each one is equipped to thrive in their role.
• Collaborate and implement discipleship pathways for 1st–5th graders, helping
kids take next steps in their faith (salvation, baptism, serving, etc.).
• Foster a culture of fun and excellence by ensuring environments are engaging,
creative, and impactful each week.
• Meet regularly for the generations cross campus co-lab meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the West Loop Kids Coordinator or West
Loop Campus Pastor
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Minimum High School Diploma; 1–2 years experience in a full-time job
preferred.
Experience: Leadership experience in a church environment and/or ministry area
preferred.
Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Highly
organized and administrative. Proficiency using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
and social media. Ability to maintain the highest degree of discernment and
confidentiality at all times.
Physical Requirements:
Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and stooping.
Mobility to move from one office area to another within the church campus and to offcampus locations. Moderate lifting and carrying may be required. Ability to reach
above shoulders, to extend arms, and reach. Ability to climb a ladder. Manual
dexterity sufficient to type, operate general office equipment, and to file. Specific visual acuities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
