Job Title: Communications Director 
FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt
Workdays/Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week, Sunday – Thursday with occasional Friday/Saturday for church events and other duties
Reports To:  Senior Associate Pastor

MINISTRY PURPOSE:  The Communications Director will lead and oversee all internal and external communications for Turning Point Community Church.

Job Description: As the Communications Director, you will lead and oversee all internal and external communications for Turning Point Community Church. This includes managing graphics, web content, social media, and print materials, as well as handling the marketing efforts to reach our community and promote various ministries and events. Collaboration with ministry leaders to develop tailored materials for events and gatherings is also a key aspect of this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Communication Plan, ensuring clarity and consistency in messaging.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of external communications and promotions, including print graphics, website management, and social media platforms.
  • Engage in strategic calendaring to prioritize ministry activities and align communication efforts accordingly.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in communications, marketing, technology, and design to enhance our strategies.
  • Lead efforts related to website creation, maintenance, and SEO optimization.
  • Manage graphic design work and maintain consistency in branding across all channels.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders and staff to communicate stories of life change and ministry wins.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Journalism, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Three years of related work experience providing support in communications development, design, and production, including supervision of others or equivalent education and experience.
  • Skills: Creative thinker, skilled communicator, organized, strategic planner, and proficient in managing multiple projects. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are a must.

Physical Requirements:

  • Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and stooping.
  • Mobility to move within the Church campus and off-campus locations.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and carry up to 15 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for typing and operating office equipment.
  • Specific visual acuities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
