God lives in the eternal now. All events are equidistant to Him because He created time. He does not live with in the confines of time. He is not subject to time. Time is subject to God. He sets the times and seasons. He holds time in His hand, as it were. That is why the Lord is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. He lives in the eternal now. He sees our end from our beginning.
From that perspective He encourages us to live in the now. He says, “Now is the acceptable time,” and “Now is the day of salvation.” And, maybe on a more practical but no less powerful level, He tells us by His Spirit speaking through the Apostle Paul that, “Now abide faith, hope, and love, these three.” Three things that we need now.
